Cleanses Sin

We got the news about changes, and we are both going to stay for another 6 weeks here in the hottest area in the mission. We are both just destroyed because of the heat haha but it’s all-good!

This last week was Semana Santa here in Guatemala! It was pretty dope and super hot! It was kind of hard to find people! We spent almost all week knocking doors because we didn’t really have many people progressing, but when Sunday came around we saw a ton of miracles! We had quite a few people attending and we have 1 baptism for this weekend and 2 for the next weekend!

We went to visit a sister who went to women’s conference and church on Sunday and just loved it! She had gone to church before but a long time ago in a different part of Guate! We taught her a lesson and we had the chance to do my favorite thing in the mission.  We challenged her to be baptized this weekend! We had known her for 20 minutes and thanks to the sweet boldness of the spirit, she said yes! She has a lot of preparation ahead but we are going to make it happen!

I think my favorite part about being a missionary is literally no embarrassment! I just love talking to people! I learned something from our assistant a couple weeks ago! He told me to just talk, talk about anything, their family, work, kids, and then after 5 minutes of building a relationship with them, relate it to JESUS, THE CHRIST! IT WORKS! I want to be bold always. Being bold cleanses sins. I’m not perfect at all, but this work is cleansing me. ¨As they went, they were cleansed¨ Luke 17:14

Thank you for always praying for me! I love you guys!
Peace,
Branson

They Were Tight!

We have officially started the SEMANA SANTA!!!! It’s the hottest week of the year, and man am I feeling it!! It is SOOOO hot! We literally just walk around SWEATING like crazy and everyone passes us on their motos in their bathing suits looking at us like we are crazy for wearing so many clothes hahaha! Basically everyone just goes to the beach for a week straight hahaha! Seriously everyone left on Monday! I have no idea who we are going to teach in the next couple days.

This week has been pretty normal! We have been finding a ton of families lately! The other day in divisions with Elder Trimnall we found a family of 6 that is pretty amazing! I hope they can keep progressing. We also have another family who have gone to church a couple of times. I think we are going to have a wedding for them this weekend or the next! We will see what happens!!

Sunday we baptized the child of a less active family we reactivated. I got to baptize him but I didn’t have baptismal pants. (I left mine at the mission office.) So I had to use my comps and man they were TIGHHHTTT!! Hahaha I couldn’t even bend my knees but I had to do it so we made it work haha!

Pday we went and played soccer in this dope field and it was waaayyyy too hot to be playing sports hahaha!

Next Tuesday is the change day so I will write on Wednesday!!
LUV YOU GUYS!

Destroy the Body

SO THIS WEEK WAS DOPE!!!! We were struggling a little when I got to this area, but things are literally just falling into place and it’s been good lately!  And it wasn’t too hot this week so we were working like crazy and seeing a ton of miracles!
Sunday we baptized a little kid of a family of less actives and his other brother is going to get baptized this weekend and then the 27th we can baptize a family of two that is suppperrrr calidad and 2 other men that have been going to church!

Dang the time is flying by!  I think the only thing that is killer is being TIRED ALL THE TIME!!!! I think 2 years is perfect, because it's the time it takes to completely destroy the body of a male missionary haha! I get home at night, plan, and make the calls in my bed hahaha!

Well, I love you guys and thanks for everything!

How to Sell the Message

Last Tuesday after I wrote you, we started running because we had a family who wanted to get married and baptized. We were busy trying to getting everything ready! They showed up to the church at 8:30pm!!!!!! (This was an hour late) It was crazy! But it didn't really matter because they got married then baptized!!!!! We got home at 10:40pm that night!

They rest of the week we were destroyed! It is so hard to work hard and walk fast in this area because the heat literally sucks the life out of you!!! But we were still able to see a ton of miracles!

My Comp

During the week, we had a leadership meeting and we were going to wake up at 3 AM to get to the meeting. We forgot to set the alarm and we woke up at 5:13.... We literally got ready in 10 minutes! Showered and everything and went running out the door. Lucky for us we got on the fastest bus in Guatemala (no joke) and showed up to our meeting at 8:20!!!!! It was crazy how lucky we were! We learned a lot and it was enjoyable!

Sunday we brought a lot more people to church and we have a family and a little teenager who could get baptized this weekend. We are going to see how that all goes!

Monday we went to Santiago Atitlan and man is that place pretty!

Looking at all the artwork.
A little shop
I bought a lot of paintings...they are pretty dope.

Today we had our zone training and we taught ¨how to sell the message¨ and it went really well!!!!

This is my Zone!

I can’t believe how fast the time is going and really the mission changes people!
I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Pumped to Work

This week President Duncan toured our mission! He went around having meetings with the entire mission, and these meetings were sooo good! He taught us a ton of things especially how we can use our time better! The only bad part was that we had to wake up at 2am for 3 days straight to get to our meetings. Plus we barely had time to work in our areas, but its all good.

Saturday we were pumped to work because of what we had been hearing, and we found a ton of people this day! Everyone was super stoked to see us and we had a list of 11 people who were going to come to church when we finished the day!

Sunday we started going by to pick people up for church and nobody wanted to come anymore. I went straight rage mode! I wanted to kill someone! We got to church and a couple investigators were there but I was still kind of confused.

Monday we rested, then we had a little fire with a couple of families and shared a message. We also went to the family that was supposed to get baptized on Sunday, but couldn’t because they had to travel to see their sick mom. When we got there, we started hitting them with the spirit and they said they wanted to get married and baptized TODAY! So today we are going to be running around and trying to get everything ready! It’s going to be good!

IT IS SO HOT!

Yo Yo Yo!

This week has been crazy! OUR AREA IS HUGE AND IT IS SO HOT!! It’s seriously hard to decide where to go and where the chosen people live. There was a time here in Tiquisate, about 15 years ago, when everyone was baptized! When we knock doors out of every 5 doors we knock, one member or less active will come out!

We haven’t really had much time to do anything really crazy this week because we had something to do everyday that took up so much time! This week we plan to go out to a little village right on the beach where there used to be a branch! We are to begin reactivating members and start up the branch again. We want to get it to a point the president can send permanent missionaries to the area!

We are going to have a wedding this week and baptism a FAMILY! I’m pretty stoked! It’s been rough the past few days because we have been rejected a ton and it’s really HOT! But it’s all good because we have seen miracles!

Sorry I don’t have pictures this week but I love you guys!

I’m in TIQUISATE!

Sunday was dope because we baptized HERMANA PAOLA!!! She is the Hermana of one of my other converts. She is super cool and already wants to go on a mission.  I’m pretty stoked!

Later that night, I got the call that I have changes on Tuesday! I couldn’t sleep that night because I was worried about where I was going to be sent!

Monday we played soccer in the morning.  Then we literally went running around trying to say goodbye to everyone.  It was pretty sad, but at the same time it was cool.  All of our converts are so sick and just love the church.  I’m not even worried about them.

Tuesday we woke up super early and showed up for changes and now I’m in TIQUISATE!!! The hottest zone in our mission!!!!! I seriously was dead the first day! I just walk around dying all day from the heat.   The people here are more humble than in the capital! I’m also Zone leader with ELDER PEÑA!!! From Peru! He is super dope and we are killing it! We are going to try and baptize a family this next weekend so stay tuned ;)

LOVE YOU GUYS!
