Bonfire Fridays

WEELLLLLL IT’S BEEN AWHILE!! Sorry I haven’t written one of these in awhile but it’s because it has been super slow here lately! We haven’t had baptisms in a long time but this week we are going to baptize two people and then the next week 3 more people!!! I’m so stoked!!!

My area is EL Carmen and it is in the capital! Everything is crazy here and there aren’t many who want to listen, but I’ve learned working hard really does pay off! God knows we are working and trying to find these people, and He blesses us! This week we have found a ton of new people and we are bringing lots of people to church! We have been having a lot of activities lately and these always help us find people! We have a bonfire every Friday and I have a guitar that I get to play! It’s super sick! All the members love us and they are always trying to help!

I just have one story to tell everyone! We have one investigator that is going to get baptized this week named Jessica! We had a visit with her 5 days ago and she told us she had a dream where her kids were killed by people from the church........We had no idea what to say! She thought it was an answer.........but then we received revelation and we destroyed EL DIABLO (the devil)! At the end of the lesson she was back to knowing the church is true and I get to baptize her. BOOOOO YYYAAAAHHHH!

I LOVE YOU ALL AND THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

6 Months

Typical Day Tracking

I HAVE 6 MONTHS!!!!!!!

It’s starting to rain here which is a little early! Our roof is lamina so it’s really loud when it rains, but we are usually dead so we just sleep through it!

Sorry I’m just too lazy to write a weekly lately! There just isn’t a ton of interesting things that are happening right now. Don’t worry I’m still brushing my teeth ;) haha I have to go. I love you a ton and thank you for everything!! Hasta la proxima semana!!!

Senior Comp

Finally able to find Hermana Kapp! Still can't believe we are in the same mission.
Hello! I got the package and it was awesome!!! Thank you so much!!!! I loved everything! The candy lasted like 2 days hahaha!!

So I’m SENIOR COMP!!!! What the? I have a phone and everything!! That’s nuts. I was terrified at the reunion! My new companion is Elder Mauricio. It is his last change in the mission.

We basically just did service this week. We dug a huge hole - 6 feet deep and 6 feet wide. It was nuts!!! Then we cut a ton of wood! Other than service, we just knock doors all day! My area is really hard. We still have to take a bus 40 minutes to the church but this bus is bigger so that’s good plus I’m in a ward instead of a branch! My area it is straight up hills, and these hills are STEEP!!!! But I’m getting fit!

We think we are going to baptize this week but we need some miracles. This area is hard because nobody wants to listen. We are working harder than ever. We do have a couple investigators. It’s weird the things I have to do as a 19 year old! I have to get some investigators divorced from other people and then I have to get them married! We also found a miracle this week! Some guy who has been to church 2 times wants to be baptized! He just works a ton so it’s hard to find him home, but it is promising.
Peace,
Branson
PS. My old companion Elder Falcon was called to be Branch president!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s the first time it has happened in this mish!!!

A Test

I'm lost!
SO this week was hard... I know God tests us to see what we will do, and this week was a big test.

Just a little Hatchet to lift the spirits! haha! It's not mine, but it is really cool.

Thursday we found our investigator, who was going to be baptized, drunk in the street. Man, was I angry! I had to bite my tongue so I didn’t unleash on this drunk. Then we just knocked doors and got rejected.

Friday our other investigator, who was going to be baptized, told us his girlfriend is already married to another guy so that’s a little bit harder to deal with.

Saturday our drunk investigator yelled at me and told me that it was all untrue. I had some words for him haha so there went one of the investigators.

Sunday we got one of our investigators to the church, which was sick!!! Kind of a blessing after being rejected all week!!

Monday my comp found out that he has changes so we just packed and cleaned the house!

I wish I could tell you guys something crazy about this week but nothing really happened! Nobody is going to want to read these letters after this because this was super boring!!!

But something cool happened, it is snowing up in the mountains here in Guatemala which is nuts!!!!!...Now I just need to find a snowboard............ I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!

Pizza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.  I don’t remember when Valentines Day is but if it’s soon-I love you all the more on this day hahahahaha!!! IIIII LLLLLOOOVVVVEEEE YYYOOOUUUUU!!!!

Snowmaker

SORRY I couldn’t write a lot last week because we were running late. This week was good!!! We worked super hard and had a ton of lessons! My new comp isn’t used to working like this, hahaha but it’s tight! My new area is super cold, every night we have to use jackets and I was super confused...jackets...in Guatemala? Yeah it’s cold!

Our house is right behind one of the biggest Catholic Church in Guatemala and its actually kind of tight, other than the crazy people that go there. This area is awesome because it’s right behind the capital city, so I have all the benefits of the capital but I don’t have to live there; I don’t like the capital!

We had a baptism this last week and it was awesome! I worked with him for a couple days and he is pilas! Something else happened this week that was sick! We had a couple in my old area get married and baptized this week-Ordolfo and Sulame! My pres. told me that and I was so stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Elder Falcon is PILAS!!!!
Final selfie with Elder Falcon! He was the sickest!
This is Elder Slaymaker!  He was Alex's roommate in college!
This week for p day we went to the TEMPLE! That is always super fun! We had divisions the day after with the zone leaders and their area is nuts! They are in the capital and it’s dangerous! There were gunshots all night but we are protected so we thought it was tight!!
Chinese food! This plate was HUUUUGEEEE!

I don’t know what more I can really tell you guys this week! The weeks are just a blur so I basically forget everything haha!
PERO........... LES AMO!!!!!!!!!!!!! ADIOOSSSSS
ELDER KENDALL
PS WE HAVE A SNOWMAKER!!!

El Carmen, Villa Hermosa

I had emergency changes and now I’m in El Carmen, Villa Hermosa! It’s nuts here. They say it’s the capital but it’s just a huge jungle with a Wal-Mart and a ton of other things! My area is full of some of the steepest hills and roads I’ve ever seen. My legs burn all day long haha! I’m going to have some buff legs after this area! My new companion is almost done with his mission and he is from Honduras.

Wednesday we had interviews and I got to see the Presidente and watch MEET THE MORMONS while we waited, that movie is actually really good! While I was there the assistants told me I had to pack because I was leaving Jocotillo the next day! When we got back I visited my converts; it was a hard last day! One lady tried to hug me haha!

Thursday I arrived in my new area and worked.

Friday I had to go to the general office building to sign some papers for my visa and all the guys from Coban from my district were there! That was tight because we talked with them for almost 3 hours!!

I don’t have more time right now too write but we baptized this week, which was awesome! I’ll write more next week. I love you guys a ton!!!!!!!!!!!

Follow in Thy Path

Follow in Thy Path
Our mini missionaries have gone home, for the most part, I thought the week was super fun!!  It was great to train them and work them to death a little!

Do you like our sleeping arrangements?  How about the pink room?  Manly!?  haha!

One mini missionary left early because he didn’t want to be there any more, he could barely walk at the end! Poor kid. We weren’t even walking fast but he couldn’t do it!  Look at the suffering in his face.

Our other mini mish was super pilas and he learned a lot!

He also got to see a baptism, because we baptized this week!!!! Yee haw!!! It’s been a couple weeks. It was nice to finally baptize the last member of the family, the papa, and now they are getting ready to go to the temple!

Nothing really crazy happened this week! We went to Antigua again and it is fun up there! There are only white people there for vacations! It was weird to see so many white people! We ate at this sweet place; unfortunately, I got super sick. I was up all night with this sickness, I’m just walking dead right now. But it's part of the mission!

This is the volcano Alli in Antigua. It's super cool!

Right now my comp is teaching me a new language! It is Mayan, and it is super crazy! It doesn’t sound anything like a language, just a bunch of noises! But I hope to learn a couple languages in these 2 years that I have!!

Thank you for all your prayers because I can feel the help that they give Elder Falcon and I!
I love you all and until next week...ADDDIIIIOOOSSSSS
