Got Wet

We BAPTIZEDDDD!!!! Just this awesome kid named Cristian! Man was it an awesome experience! A member was going to baptize him but the member got caught in traffic... so I put on the baptismal pants and GOT WET!!! I didn’t have anything dry to change into so I spent the rest of the day wet hahaha but its fine, you can walk faster with wet legs ;)

Here is a sick picture from the baptismal service.

Sunday we brought a TON of people to church and they all loved it. So the month of December is going to be a good one!!!!

I’ve been learning a ton about real intent. Sometimes it’s hard to be on a mission, especially with a white comp, he does not help me be focused – too much reminds me of home. But I have been trying to give complete control to the Lord and he has literally guided us to the people he wants in HIS CHURCH!!

I LOVE THE MISSION! I LOVE YOU ALL! SOMOS LOS MOJADOS!!

Calls All Day

Ok I’ll tell you something - it’s hard being a zone leader. We get calls all day long. We have no time to do anything because we get so many calls. I just have to focus more on the work when we do have time. It’s been so stressful! We have norms that we have to complete and sometimes that its just hard. The people here, I’m not going to lie, are pretty dang rude! They seriously just look at us as dust! The other day I basically condemned someone at their door for being a sinner and not truly believing in Christ. We go hourssss without having lessons and it’s just not as fun when we don’t teach people. There are super cool people that will listen to us but then they don’t progress so we can’t teach them any more. We only teach the people that are going to progress.

We have been teaching this guy named Cristian. He is 19 and just loves the church! He likes to ride BMX bikes as well so that’s sick! The other day he texted us and asked us if we could baptize him tomorrow but we have to hold it off until Friday because we have a ton of crazy meetings now that we are zone leaders.

This week I also got to do divisions with Elder Slaymaker in this little mountain town up above our area. It is so pretty and they people there are so awesome we saw a ton of miracles.

We also had a special conference - a live broadcast from Elder Bednar! It was just for Guatemala – and it was one big chicote for not keeping the Sabbath day holy.

We also have changes this week but I’m pretty sure I’m staying in my area for at least another two changes but we will see!

I’m pretty sure if I weren’t a missionary I wouldn’t read these emails because they are so boring pero estaaaaa biennnn

LOVE YOU GUYS!

Ribs and Cheese Puffs

Here is a Placa of a language I'm trying to learn! It's called Queche.

This week has beeeeennnnn nuttsss! So many things that we’ve had to do!

Tuesday, we had our interviews with President Markham that was awesome.

Wednesday my comp and I gave a workshop to all of the zones in the capital. Pretty crazy because we only had 2 days to prepare it!

Thursday we had leadership council in the house of president and it was cool going back there after not being there for a while!

Friday and Saturday were pretty normal, we found a lot of cool people and we are finally getting to know all of the converts in this area.

Sunday we saw a huge miracle. We found this super cool 19-year-old teenager this week and when we got to the bus stop to go to church this kid was waiting for us there! It was dang cool! He is going to get baptized! I also had to give a talk in church that actually went pretty well!

Monday we won the most successful zone in the mission. So president came to our zone pday and brought FOOODDDDD! He brought us RIBS!!!!!!!!!! They were seriously the best things I have eaten here in Guatemala! We played a bunch of minute to win it games and then a game of soccer. We have a sister in our zone that basically schooled us all in soccer so that was sick!

Here we are playing the cheese puff game!  We also had an egg toss that was super funny!
This is after we played the games.  Shaving cream everywhere.
The Cookie Shuffle

Today we gave another workshop to our zone (straight workshops) and now I’m in divisions with ELDER SLAYMAKER!!! He was one of ALEX'S roommates in college! The kid is super funny!

Sorry for writing a long one! LOVE YOU GUYS!

Straight Fire!

This week has been interesting. My area is full of straight wickedness. When I first got here, we were trying the whole be nice and make friends kind of thing, which worked with a very few people. Now we are taking the ALMA approach! I have been giving it hard to a lot of people, because this area needs to be called to repentance. I have been destroying bad traditions with the scriptures. I figure if I can tear them down to the dust, Jesus and his Atonement can build them back up into the people God wants them to be! We’ve had a lot of recent converts in this area tell us they went inactive when the elder who baptized them left. So I’m not worried about how many people I baptize anymore, because what good is it if we baptize someone and they still don’t make it to the celestial kingdom. SO WE ARE GOING TO MAKE CHANGES and truly convert these people! I feel more powerful.

We are working hard! Some cool families are progressing and tomorrow my comp and I are giving a workshop in front of the entire mission. Pray for us! Hoping it’s going to be STRAIGHT FIRE!!

Halloween was cool - I bought some candy.

I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!
